Contemporary Tracks: Panda Bear

So continuing the exciting Animal Collective news, I decided to take a listen to some of that experimental psychedelia from one of the groups members, Panda Bear or Noah Lennox (who is actually one of the founding members of Animal Collective). He actually has had about four studio LP’s as well, these were released through a time span of 1999-2007. First being his self-titled, Panda Bear (99′) to his most recent, Panda Pitch (07′). I am assuming that from 2007 on he was mostly working on Animal Collectives record (for 2 years). So I found a pretty awesome video online for one of the songs that he does on his newest, Bros. Actually, I found quite a lot of Panda videos one that I couldn’t figure out if it was fake or not but it was a video for a great jam entitled, Comfy in Nautica. Which featured (I think) Panda doing some skating tricks as the song played over. It was done pretty well and you can see that here.
Anyway, so the video below is from a live show Panda did in London at a place called, The Spitz in 2005 and the video is in pretty nice quality. As you would expect, Panda’s’ music is really on that experimental fence driven by a psychedelic pop, freak folk type sound. You can clearly hear the roots of Animal Collective growing from Panda’s tracks.
